Black Stone Cherry pochádza z Edmontu, Kentucky. Kapela bola oficiálne založená 4. júna 2001. Prvý živý album Black Stone Cherry bol 31. októbra 2007 v Londýne. Dňa 19. augusta 2008 Black Stone Cherry vydali svoj druhý album s názvom Folklore and Superstition.
